Members

Scientists awarded under the TÜBA-GEBİP (Outstanding Young Scientists Award Program) are granted natural membership in the Turkish Young Academy with the approval of the TÜBA Academy Council.

Membership to the Turkish Young Academy through other means is granted to scientists under the age of 45 who are either:

  • Nominated individually by TÜBA members with a substantiated letter of recommendation and have demonstrated merit in scientific peer-review processes, or
  • Have received the TÜBİTAK Incentive Award or the TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Incentive Award.

These nominations require the approval of the TÜBA Academy Council and confirmation by members affiliated with the relevant field during the General Assembly of the Turkish Young Academy.

Scientists who have been granted equivalent awards by academies around the world may also be considered within the same scope by the Academy Council and, if deemed appropriate, may be submitted to the General Assembly of the Turkish Young Academy for a vote on their membership.

The procedures and principles concerning the evaluation of membership nominations and the selection process are determined by the Academy Council.

Each member is affiliated with one of the three scientific fields designated by the Academy Council:

  • Natural and Engineering Sciences,
  • Social Sciences and Humanities,
  • Health and Life Sciences.
