Executive Board

Executive Board of the Turkish Young Academy

The Executive Board of the Turkish Young Academy consists of nine members elected by the General Assembly—three from each of the following fields: Natural and Engineering Sciences, Health and Life Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities—as well as the President of the TÜBA Young Academy Community.

Each member of the Executive Board serves a three-year term. A member may not serve on the Executive Board for more than two terms.

The Executive Board meets at least once every three months under normal circumstances. Decisions are taken by absolute majority of those present. In case of a tie, the President’s vote prevails.

Duties of the Executive Board:

  • To organise and implement the scientific and social activities of the TÜBA Young Academy Community.
  • To establish commissions, either from within or outside the TÜBA Young Academy Community, for various consultative or analytical matters, or to assign members to commissions established by TÜBA when necessary.
  • To decide on matters related to the Community’s engagement in membership, agreements, collaborations, and joint activities with national and international institutions and organisations relevant to its mission, and to submit such decisions to the TÜBA Academy Council.
